Hello again if you saw the previous post then you know what I intend to do for this blog. I want to rank all the anime I have watch (not including movies or shorts) so that I can just let out my opinions. Anyways there needs to be a format or a criteria that I use for the shows. That is what this post is about today.
So how does it work?
I will use a 5 point rating and this is how it is broken down:
Opening/ending: (I feel like when it comes to anime the opening/ending themes and animation define the show a lot so I believe it is an important aspect of the show. It won't make or break the show but I appreciate a good opening/ending).
Animation: (I am in no way a big expert on animation in any way... I am actually a terrible drawer... anyways animation is important as well, I mean that is the appeal of anime, the drawing and animation and how real everything can look).
Story/Characters: (This is will include anything about the story, plot, premise, plot holes, conclusion, flow and all other story related aspects. I believe that characters are connected to how the story is so I consider them in the same vain. Characters include the depth and develop I believe they have or not, likability, the design of the character, and other character related aspects.... This category is pretty general to be honest. I will though, one of the most important parts of a show is the theme and lesson at the end. This has to to be one of the most important aspects of a show to me, the lesson at the end).
Enjoyment: (How fun or enjoyment it was to watch. Some times the story or animation will not be up to par but the show overall could be lots of fun which could help make up for weaker spots... a quick example would be... One Punch Man, I do not think it has the best or most interesting story but the pure fun and enjoyment really makes it great and lets me not focus on the story shortcomings in my opinion.... I guess you already know how I kind of feel about One Punch Man.... that will be on the list obviously).
Different genres of shows will also have different aspects focused on.... So what I mean when I say that is an action anime like.... Attack Titan, will be graded on all those categories (OP/ED, animation, story/characters, enjoyment) equally. But a slice of life anime like... K-ON!, will have a bigger focus on enjoyment than story in reviewing because slice of life anime usually do not have in depth stories to begin with (that is not to say that the story does not matter in a slice of life show but I have more of an understanding on why slice of life have basic stories and why it is not as important to factor in). I don't know if that explanation was confusing so feel free to comment and ask me about my grading scale if you have any misunderstandings.
Also, just a reminder that this is my ranking and opinion. Obviously it will not be how you would think or rank them or who knows maybe you have the same opinions as I do. But these are my opinions on how good or bad an anime was. If you have any thoughts feel free to comment and discuss about what you agree or disagree on.
I am also open to any or all criticisms of my post, rankings, and blog. If you do not agree with a ranking comment on the post. If you do not like my writing style or my grammar is bad, feel free to comment. Well I think this is enough for one post. I think I will start the rankings maybe next week but definitely by the 26 of March. I will include anime from the winter 2016 season (I believe how I feel about the shows will stand by the time when it finishes and I do not expect any huge changes of my opinions... unless something REALLY stupid happens in some shows but again I do not expect any changes and if I do, then I will edit the post and update it with my opinions). But yeah that is it for now I hope someone out there will enjoy the content that will come soon (maybe in a week, lots of midterms and papers to finish....) But I am getting excited about this so I hope it is good! See ya!
